William Edward Davison, nicknamed "Wild Bill", was an American jazz cornetist.

He garnered his nickname 'Wild' from his appetite for women and alcohol.

Playing professionally in the 1920's, he gained wide recognition in the 1940's and beyond.

He played with the likes of Eddie Condon, Gene Krupa and Sidney Bechet.

He emerged through his work playing alongside Muggsy Spanier and Frank Teschemacher.
Wild Bill Davison is best remembered for his association with bandleader Eddie Condon.
His nickname of "Wild Bill" reflected a reputation for heavy drinking and womanizing in his younger years.
